CBI sources said the Partha Sengupta, Vice-president (Raw Materials) of Tata Steel was questioned yesterday in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand in connection with the deal.
Reacting to development, company spokesperson said, "Tata Steel neither sought nor received any undue 'benefits' from former Jharkhand CM Madhu Koda. Tata Steel was not awarded any new mining licences nor were any existing licences renewed during Mr Koda's tenure."
CBI has alleged that Koda took huge bribes to award mining contracts to business groups during his tenure, sources said.
