The fair trade regulator, which keeps a tab on unfair business practices across sectors, has been beefing up its manpower in recent times.
At the end of March this year, the watchdog had more than 70 vacancies.
Competition Commission of India (CCI) refers cases where there is prima-facie evidence of competition norms violations to its investigation arm Director General (DG) office for detailed probe.
Now, the regulator has sought applications for 24 positions, including for 16 Deputy Director General posts, at the DG's office. It is also looking for people at the level of Additional Director and Joint Director Generals.
"Applicants must be employees of central or state governments, government companies or autonomous bodies or regulatory authorities or universities or academics or research or judicial institutions etc of central/state governments," CCI said in a notice.
The appointments would be on deputation basis.
Out of the sanctioned strength of 197, as many as 72 positions were vacant at CCI at the end of March 31, 2016, as per Corporate Affairs Ministry data.
