Central Coalfields Limited today decided to provide training to 50 budding football players from rural Jharkhand.
The public sector's Director (Personnel) R R Mishra asked CCL's nodal officer to organise an inter-area football competition and select 50 budding players by soccer experts.
"The company will provide best coaching for them," a press release quoting Mishra said while felicitating captains of village teams set up by the CCL in its command areas.
Over 200 football teams have been set up at village-level in the CCL's command area under the guidance of Chairman-cum-Managing Director Gopal Singh.
"You should play football to achieve your dream," Mishra exhorted the young footballers here and sought their profiles to promote their skills.
He said the objective for setting up village-level teams was to groom talented youngsters in rural areas so that they could get an opportunity to represent state and the country.
K S Patro, General Manager (P/IR) said that the players should not limit their game at the village-level and should strive to play at national international level tournaments.
Roused by the inspirational assurances by the officials, the players promised to avail the "unique initiative of CCL" to the maximum.
Steel major Tata Steel has given several players after it set up football academy several years ago.
