Parrikar said the recent ceasefire violations by the neighbouring country were taking place on the International Border (IB) which is manned by the Border Security Force.
"Sometimes intent of firing is to get attention," he said while interacting with journalists on the sidelines of the naval commandos conference here.
Pakistan targeted 30 border outposts and several hamlets today with mortar bombs and heavy machine guns in Samba and Kathua districts injuring a civilian, as it continued ceasefire violations for the fourth day.
