This was informed by Union Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Narendra Singh Tomar to Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan through a letter.
"Directions have been given to the Chief Controller of Accounts to send an internal audit team to Odisha for conducting a specific inquiry in the matter and furnishing the report," Tomar wrote to Pradhan.
Tomar's letter came in response to Pradhan drawing his attention in which sarpanch of Barahipur gram panchayat in Cuttack district had alleged largescale irregularities in selection of beneficiaries.
Tomar said identification of beneficiaries should be based on the housing deprivation parameters as per Socio-Economic and Caste Census, 2011 data.
