Children's Film Society of India (CFSI) will host a three-day National Children's Film Festival (NCFF) in Vishakhapatnam from April 7.
The film bonanza for children of Andhra Pradesh, which will be held at VUDA Children Theatre in Vishakhapatnam, will be inaugurated by Information and Broadcasting Minister Venkaiah Naidu.
More than 40,000 children from the state are expected to attend screening of 24 CFSI films during the festival.
The state government has offered to provide 12 screens in Vishakhapatnam where daily three shows at every theatre will be held.
The opening film will be "Shanu - The Optimist", directed by KNT Sastry and produced by CFSI in 2016, CEO, CFSI Dr Shravan Kumar said.
The festival will showcase 24 popular CFSI films like Akkineni Kutuma Rao's Telegu film "Amulyam", "Bandu Boxer", "Bhago Bhoot", "Chota Sipahi", "Chutkan ki Mahabharat", "Ek Tha Bhujang", "Gauru", "Happy Mother's Day", "Krish", "Trish & Baltiboy" and "Pappu ki Pugdandi."
"NCFF is the largest film festival for children in India giving the audience quality and wholesome entertainment. We started 1st NCFF in 2014 from Delhi and brought in 2nd NCFF last year in Jaipur. We are now extending this festival to Vizag in association with AP government," Kumar said.
Last week, NCFF was organised in Guwahati where CFSI had joined hands with 'Smile Foundation'.
