The 40-year-old singer has been ordered to undergo the surgery in three weeks following vocal rest, reported Aceshowbiz.
His health has forced the "No Fixed Address" band to scrap the remaining dates of their North American roadshow.
"I am sorry I have to interrupt the party this summer and I am definitely not thrilled with the prospect of being silent for many weeks to come when I could be out there playing for our fans," Kroeger said in a statement.
"I am relying on my doctor and his team to help get my voice back in good form as quickly as possible."
"We completely understand people will be upset about this but unfortunately I don't know what you do in these situations. Sometimes these things happen," Peake said.
"We need him to properly take care of his voice so we can continue to do this.
