Alex Proyas's film centres around a war between the deities of Ancient Egypt following the stealing of the throne by the dark god Set (Butler).
Mortal hero Bek (Brenton Thwaites) enlists the aid of the god Horus (Coster-Waldau) to restore peace to the land. Boseman will play Thoth, the god of learning.
Courtney Eaton will also feature in 'Gods of Egypt'.
Boseman will next be seen in Ivan Reitman's sports comedy 'Draft Day 'and in the lead role in Tate Taylor's James Brown biopic 'Get On Up'.
