Its net profit stood at Rs 149.52 crore in the year-ago period.
Income from operations also fell to Rs 1,908.34 crore in the first quarter of this fiscal from Rs 2,348.05 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year.
Chambal Fertilisers and Chemicals is one of the largest private sector fertiliser producers in India. It has two urea plants located at Gadepan in Kota district of Rajasthan. The two plants produce about 2 million tonnes of urea per annum.
Chambal Fertilisers has other business interests through its subsidiary in the software sector. It also has a joint venture in Morocco for manufacturing phosphoric acid.
