In the three-day long session, opposition members disrupted proceedings many times demanding resignation of Chief Minister Raman Singh for his government's alleged failure to provide security to the Congress rally which was ambushed by Maoists on May 25 in which 29 people, including senior Congress leaders were killed.
On the second and third day of the proceedings, opposition members were even suspended when they moved into the well of the House shouting slogans against the government.
Important bills passed includes a bill to regulate as well as prohibit the sale and use of acid, control private institutions operating in the higher education sector and an amendment to the Chhattisgarh Food Security Act 2012 called the Chhattisgarh Food Security and Malnutrition Security Act 2012.
Enraged about the Darbha Maoist attack incident, the Congress had already decided not to attend the photograph session and farewell ceremony, since this was the last session before the state goes to the polls in November.
