Don't bring models of pain: Cong to BJP

Sharpening its attack on BJP, Congress today asked it to desist from bringing any "model of pain" in the country like Gujarat riots or Ayodhya politics.
Listing the "welfare measures" taken by the UPA government, party spokesperson Raj Babbar said, "... On the contrary, there are people who do the politics of models."
He also hit out at Narendra Modi's confidante Amit Shah without naming him and rued that the "subedar" was sent to Uttar Pradesh earlier and the Gujarat Chief Minister yesterday went to the RSS headquarters at Nagpur and brought the Ayodhya model.
"There is one model of 2002 in Gujarat (post Godhra riots). And yesterday he went to Nagpur and brought the 1990 model of Ayodhya (raking up the Ram temple issue). What did the country get from the Ayodhya model of the 1990 or Gujarat model of 2002? The nation has only got pain from these.

"Do not bring either of these two models of pain in this country. The country does not need models but welfare measures, which the UPA government is taking," Babbar told reporters at the AICC briefing.
BJP had yesterday charged the Congress with diverting public attention from its failures by raking up the secularism issue to polarise the electorate as the Congress had launched an all out attack on Modi for his "burkha" and "puppy" remarks.
Modi had also held a closed-door meeting with RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and General Secretary Bhaiyyaji Joshi yesterday, his first interaction with the top Sangh leadership after his elevation in BJP.
