China's veterans who fought in the anti-Japanese War will receive 5,000 yuan (USD 802) ahead of the 70th anniversary of victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression on September 3.
The allowance will be handed out to the veterans before September, according to a circular released Tuesday by the ministries of civil affairs and finance, at the request of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, state-run Xinhua news agency reported today.
China has scheduled a series of events to mark the anniversary, culminating in a military parade on September 3 in Beijing.
