More than 2.5 lakh cases are pending before the High Court and the Chief Justice had in the past expressed concern about it.
Chief Justice Manjula Chellur, while hearing a case, asked a few senior lawyers to ponder over the possibility of holding condolence meeting on Fridays at a fixed time.
At present, the practice is to abstain from attending courts for a specific time suggested by the Bar Association and hold condolence meetings to pay respects to the lawyer on the day of his or her death or on the next working day.
