SHO of Sector 49 police station Girendra Pal Singh said that the mother of the girl, who was a resident of Sarfabad village here, had on April 24 registered a complaint of kidnapping against unidentified persons.
During investigation, it came to the fore that Yashveer spoke to the girl a number of times and they were in a relationship.
When police took him into custody today, he told them that he took the girl to his village where he forcefully raped her on May 2. When she resisted, he allegedly strangulated her to death and threw her body in Simbhaoli area, he said.
