Cleaning drive intensifies at Badarinath Dham

A cleaning drive at the famous Badarainath Dham has been started with collective efforts of the chairman of Reliance Group Anil Ambani and local volunteers.
The pledge to clean the Alaknanda and the Ganga banks between Badarinath and Haridwar was taken at the initiative of Badarinath Temple Committee when the gates were opened on April 20 last month, temple authorities said.
The work is being done by the Badarinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee along with the team of Mana and Bagni villages and being also assisted by Badrsih Anil Ambani Cleaning Force, the temple authorities said.
The chairman of Reliance Group, Anil Ambani, was among the nine celebrities named by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to carry the Swachh Bharat campaign forward.

Other celebrities named by Modi included cricketing icon Sachin Tendulkar and film stars Salman Khan and Priyanka Chopra, yoga guru Ramdev and Congress leader Sashi Tharoor.
