A clerk and a peon at the district court were caught red-handed while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 700, Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials said today.
Clerk Maya Shivaji Kasbe (52) and peon Sunil Mulye (42) had demanded bribe from the complainant for providing a certified copy of the bail application in a case, Deputy SP, Thane ACB, Sanjay Mohite said.
A trap was laid after the court proceedings started and they both were nabbed inside the court premises yesterday.
The duo have been charged under relevant sections of Prevention of Corruption Act and an offence has been lodged with the local police station.
