On a day's visit to his hometown, Akhilesh inspected various projects there awaiting completion like the mini PGI hospital, para medical college, Chaudhary Charan Singh post graduate college and said stoppage of work during the BSP government out of political ill-will had pushed the area backwards by at least five years.
These schemes if completed would have benefitted common people, he said.
The chief minister regretted that just a little work of paramedical college here remains to be done but alleged that Mayawati stopped work on it it after coming to power depriving people of a major facility.
However, efforts are on to start this college by July this year, he said.
While inspecting the stadium in Saifai, the chief minister expressed unhappiness over the use of sub standard material and directed the officials to take action against those responsible after conducting an inquiry.
