The company had posted a net profit of Rs 123.30 crore in the corresponding period of previous fiscal.
Net sales of the company rose to Rs 920.59 crore in the fourth quarter, as against Rs 811.58 crore in the same period of previous fiscal, Colgate Palmolive (India) said in a filing to the BSE.
For the year ended March 31, 2014, the company posted a net profit of Rs 539.87 crore as against Rs 496.75 crore in the 2012-13 fiscal.
"The company posted a robust volume growth of 7 per cent for the quarter and 9 per cent for the full year in toothpaste category," the company said.
Despite the inflationary environment and pressure on the rupee, the company's focus on driving efficiencies and reducing costs coupled with prudent price increases has resulted in higher gross margin, it added.
Colgate shares today closed at Rs 1,373.85 apiece on the BSE, up 0.85 per cent from its previous close.
