The renovated unit of the Barauni Thermal Power Station (BTPS) is expected to start commercial power generation by month-end.
"The unit 7 of the plant (BTPS) on Thursday was run on coal during which it was checked as whether or not all parameters are working as per the norms... We hope to start commercial generation from the plant by August 31," P K Rai, Energy Advisor to the Chief Minister told PTI.
The Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) carried out the renovation and modernisation (R&M) of two units at Barauni in Begusaria district.
Arun Kumar Sinham, BTPS General Manager, said that the unit number 7 was light up with the help of light diesel oil in February this year.
"But now we have run the plant on coal and we will gradually increase the load up to 110 MW in order to achieve the target of commercial generation," Sinha said.
