Raising the issue in zero hour, Mullappally Ramachandran said that such a situation was a disaster for the local people and tough steps needed to be taken to tackle the issue so that it does not affect their health and happiness.
He was supported by B Vinod Kumar of TRS.
Reports had it that India's top pollution monitoring body, the Central Pollution Control Board, has said in a report that Delhi has the most polluted air among 16 cities in the National Capital Region.
Delhi has the dubious distinction of topping the charts with the highest levels of nitrogen dioxide, sulphur dioxide, benzene and carbon monoxide.
