Badal said without any tangible issue against the SAD-BJP government the Congress leadership was making baseless statements, and claimed that the party had always adopted the policy of 'Divide and Rule' to fulfil its political interests.
The Chief Minister was interacting with reporters after laying down the foundation stones of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru Government College, Mohkam Khan Wala and Astro Turf Complex in Shaheed Bhagat Singh stadium here.
He said he did not deem it fit to answer the issues raised by the persons who had betrayed the Shiromani Akali Dal to enjoy fruits of power by becoming a tool in the hands of the perpetrators of the Operation Bluestar.
He said contrary to the divisive policies of Congress, the SAD-BJP combine through its constructive and development oriented policies had made the state an oasis of communal harmony, peace and brotherhood.
Training his guns against the Congress-led UPA government for "meting out step-motherly treatment" towards the state, Badal said due to the incentives given to the neighbouring states the industrial growth of Punjab had suffered.
He said the discriminatory policies of the UPA against the state had made an irreparable loss.
