Cong MLA's son in Karnataka remanded in judicial custody till March 7

The son of MLA N A Haris of the ruling Congress who was booked in an assault case was today remanded in judicial custody till March 7 along with his eight accomplices.
Mohammed Nalapad Haris and his friends were produced before the Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate who sent them to judicial custody and adjourned the hearing on their bail plea to February 23.
Soon after the order, they were taken to the Parappana Agrahara Central Jail.
Nalapad has been booked for attempt to murder for allegedly assaulting a man named L Vidwath during a brawl at a pub-cum-restaurant in U B City here on February 17 night.

Nalapad was the Bengaluru District Youth Congress general secretary.
He surrendered before police on Monday after public outrage over the incident.

The Congress had expelled Nalapad from the party for six years after the incident triggered a political backlash with the BJP and the JD(S) accusing the state government of trying to protect him.
Doctors at the Mallya hospital today released the 3D X-Ray image of Vidwath's skull, which showed multiple fractures in the nasal and maxilla bone.
Doctors said there are multiple fractures in his ribs also. In all, there were 20 fractures all over his body, they said.

Dr Anand said it might take Vidwath at least four to six weeks to fully recover.
"The nasal and maxilla bone will recover on its own. There are fractures in his rib bones also due to which he may have breathing problems. We have kept him under observation to ensure that he does not have any respiratory problem."
Meanwhile, the BJP accused the police of deleting the video footage to protect the criminals.
Padmanabhanagar MLA and former deputy chief minister R Ashok said the non-availability of video footage inside the restaurant proves that there is a deliberate attempt to protect the accused and his gang.
