Cong stages protest against Dalit assault in Gujarat

Congress workers today staged a 'maun dharna' (silent protest) in front of the Ambedkar statue here against the brutal thrashing of Dalits at a village in Gujarat.
The protest was led by Congress vice president and Amethi MP Rahul Gandhi's representative Chandra Kant Dubey. District Congress chief Yogendra Mishra was also present.
Later, Dubey told reporters that the Congress has always respected all sections of the society, including Dalits.
