"In Bihar, we had four seats, which rose seven times with party winning 27 seats in the recently-concluded Assembly polls. In UP, we have 28 seats, and according to my estimates, they will increase at least eight times," AICC General Secretary and incharge of party affairs in the state, Madhusudan Mistry, told reporters here.
The Congress leader, who earlier in the day took part in a meeting of district unit presidents, was asked whether his party will repeat the show put up in Bihar in UP's 2017 elections.
Other issues, including the strategy for the 2017 elections and organisational matters, were discussed in the meeting with the district presidents, he said.
Refusing to elaborate on the strategy, Mistry said that the party's roadmap for 2017 was ready.
He said that Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi will meet the Saharanpur farmers on November 23 and undertake six kms long padyatra.
