Congress member in the Karnataka Legislative Council Ivan D'Souza Saturdayexpressed his desire to contest the Lok Sabha elections fromDakshina Kannada constituency.
Addressing reporters here, D'Souza said he is an aspirant for a ticket in the coming Lok Sabha polls fromDK constituency and is confident of winning if the party high command gave him the chance.
He said had already approached the partyleadership and apprised them of the situation in theconstituency.
Voters belonging to the minority community are the deciding factor in thesegment and there is nothing wrong in seeking a ticket for himself, he added.
Asked about former Union minister B Janardhana Poojaryexpressing willingness to contest if given a chance, D'Souza said the veteran leader also had the right to seek a ticketadding he would work for him if the party decided in his favour.
