Consecration of 600 yr-old Manakula Vinayakar temple held

: A large number of devotees today witnessed the consecration (kumbabishegam) of the more than 600 year old Sri Manakula Vinayakar temple here today.
Chief Minister N Rangasamy, Assembly Speaker V Sabapathy and Puducherry District Collector Dr S Sundaravadivelo were among those who offered worship on the occasion.
Vedic pundits conducted special poojas and chanted mantras to the accompaniment of nadaswaram on the occasion. The temple is situated close to the Raj Nivas (office cum residence of Lt Governor).
