"One CRPF personalperforming duty at Om point aheadof Bhairon Temple fell down in deep gorge en route cave shrine of Mata Vaishnodevi", a senior police officer of Reasi district said.
After hectic efforts of police and CRPF, the body was recovered from a spot which was about 200 meters from Sanjichat helipad, he said.
The deceased constable has been identified as Inglae Gotam ofMaharashtra.
The officer said the incident happened near Om point when CRPF jawans were taking positions, they said.
The INSAS rifle of the jawan is yet to be recovered.
