Constable injured in group clash at Shamli

A police constable was injured during a fight between two groups in Uttar Pradesh's Shamli district following which 14 people, including two women, were booked and 5 of them arrested, an official said on Tuesday.

The clash occurred at Pirzadgan locality in Kairana town on Monday when a confrontation between in-laws and parents of a woman lead to stone pelting between two groups, said Station House Officer Yashpal Dhama.

After receiving information about the fight, police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control, the SHO added.
