The sentence was awarded by Special Judge D N Mishra to constable Ajay Singh Pawar under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
According to the prosecution, Pawar was found guilty of accepting a bribe of Rs 4,000 in two instalments from an accused Ravi Bairagi in a criminal case registered against him in the Chandan Nagar police station.
Pawar had threatened Bairagi that if he did not pay him a bribe of Rs 5,000 then he would frame him in an Arms Act case and ensure that he would not get bail.
