Terming as unfortunate the riots in Muzaffarnagar and adjoining areas in which over 60 people were killed, Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav today assured that such incidents will never allowed to be repeated and the guilty will be brought to books soon.
Addressing party workers after the state parliamentary board meeting here, Yadav also assured that nobody will allowed to be harassed in the name of police action in the riots.
"Such incidents will not allowed to be repeated in the state. I ensure you that justice will be done. Those involved (in riots) will be brought to books, but innocent people will not be harassed by lodging fake cases against them," Yadav said.
Taking a jibe at Narendra Modi, Yadav said while Uttar Pradesh was marching on the path of progress, false claims of development in Gujarat were being made.
"The state (UP) is seeing development under SP regime, while false claims are being made on development of Gujarat," Yadav said.
Continuing his attack on BJP and RSS, Yadav said their ideology is against the principles of social justice, and asked party workers to remain alert as the "communal forces were trying to create hurdles in the development of the state and conspiring to weaken Samajwadi Party."
He also claimed that people have lost faith in BJP and Congress and a third force is the only alternative, and said the picture on a possible third front will be clear after the Lok Sabha elections.
