Sluggish demand in the domestic spot market also weighed on prices.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in April month fell by Rs 1.90, or 0.43 per cent to Rs 443.40 per kg in business turnover of 1,921 lots.
On similar lines, the metal for delivery in June contracts were trading lower by Rs 1.65, or 0.37 per cent to Rs 447.50 per kg in 26 lots.
Analysts said offloading of positions by participants in line with a weak trend overseas mainly kept copper prices down in futures trade.
