Cops attacked, undertrial freed by accomplices

Taufeeq alias Rashid, a resident of Rajasthan, was being taken to Faridabad for a court hearing, when his accomplices attacked the police escort party near a bus stand, SP rural P K Tewari said.

The two-member police escort party was thrashed and handcuffed and forcefully taken in a car, he said, adding that they were later let off at Chhatta Goverdhani.

Taufeeq carried a cash reward of Rs 50,000 on him, Tewari added.
