Couple commits suicide over family problem

Bodies of a 60-year-old man and his wife were found on the roof of their house at Chakdaha in Nadia district today, more than 24 hours after they committed suicide over a family problem, the police said.
Kalyan Biswas and his wife Jayanti (50) consumed poison in the roof apparently on Thursday after their daughter-in-law left for her parents' house following a quarrel with the couple.
Her husband Surajit works as a mason in Kerala.
The deceased couple's younger son Prasenjit had thought his parents had gone to the temple or some relative's place as they used to do often, the police said.

But when he did not find them in both the places, he was thinking of lodging a missing diary with the police last night but did not go out due to heavy rains.
A neighbour found the bodies lying in the roof today and informed Prasenjit, the police said.
