Love lorn couples formed massive ques outside marriage registration offices in almost all Chinese cities to get their marriage certificate registered on 12/12/12, which sounds like "will love/will love/will love" in Chinese, state news agency Xinhua reported.

About 2,000 couples scrambled to get their marriage certificate registered in Changchun, the capital of China's northeastern Jilin Province, the agency said, adding the rush was on in almost all cities.

Authorities in Hong Kong and Singapore also reported over 600 couples getting married in a trend first witnessed during 10/10/10 and again in 11/11/11.

Xinhua said that hundreds had delayed the nuptials to get tied on 12/12/12 as they know that there won't be any 13/13/13.

Officials said in many marriage registration offices additional hands were called in to cope with the mad marriage rush.
