"We have told BJP to call an all-party meeting on the GST issue but it has not been called yet. We suspect the government itself is sabotaging GST, a section in the government is against the GST," CPI(M) Secretary General Sitaram Yechury told reporters.
With just six days left for the winter session of Parliament to conclude, the passage of GST bill seems unlikely.
Yechury accused the BJP for setting agenda outside Parliament so the House does not function.
He said, "When Parliament session is on, incidents which divert attention is not undertaken by the government normally. Whatever happened in Arunachal, Delhi CM office, are indications in this direction. But then what happened in Vyapam scam in Madhya Pradesh, Lalit Modi issue in Rajasthan?"
"On the one hand they are saying Opposition is not allowing GST bill to pass, on the other hand everybody knows it was opposed by the then Gujarat CM Narendra Modi," the CPI(M) leader said targeting the Prime Minister.
"Government's own action leads to that GST bill will not be passed," Yechury said.
