Kerala's ruling CPI-M today registered a strong protest over Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "negative approach" towards issues raised by an all-party delegation from the state which met him recently.
The delegation had only raised important issues and those which need urgent attention. It listed them in the memorandum that was submitted to the prime minister and so the state expected a positive response from him, the party said in a release.
"But the prime minister adopted a negative approach towards the issues raised by the state," the release added.
It said the nation could move forward only if the principles of federal structure were adhered to.
The delegation, led by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, had met Modi on July 19 and submitted a memorandum raising various issues including the demand for a rail coach factory, increasing allocation of food grains for the state and a relief package to help those affected by heavy rains.
After the meeting, Vijayan had told reporters that the prime minister's response to the issues raised by the delegation was "not satisfactory".
State Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala, who was also part of the delegation, had also expressed disappointment and said the delegation had failed to get any favourable response from the prime minister.
