The CPI(M) today demanded regularisation of National Youth Corps (NYC), requesting the government to ensure that their services continue.
Raising the issue in the Assembly, party member Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami also sought monthly salary for nearly 8,000 volunteers of the state, instead of the honorarium being given to them.
Seeking job security for them, Tarigami noted that the volunteers, selected on merit basis, come from middle and lower income groups.
