CPI(M) slams TMC govt over 'lack of industrialisation' in WB

Hitting out at West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for doing "nothing" to boost industrialisation in the state, CPI(M) leader Surya Kanta Mishra today said only the Left Front can pursue the cause if the party is voted to power.
"There is a lack of industrialisation in West Bengal and TMC government has done nothing for the sake of it. They have ruined Bengal. In the last four and half years more than 38000 small and medium scale industries have closed down (in the state)," the Leader of Opposition said during a rally here.
CPI(M)-led Left Front kicked off a week-long procession from Singur to Salboni with a demand of industrialisation in the state and jobs for the unemployed youth.

Indicating that industrialisation of the state would be a big issue in the coming assembly poll, Mishra asked party cadres to reach out to the masses and tell them of the grim picture of industrialisation in the state.
"At Singur we had tried to set up an industry but due to TMC it was moved out of Bengal to Gujarat," Mishra said.
Mishra also mocked West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's foreign trips to Singapore and London to attract investments.

"It seems she is in a competition with our Prime Minister who frequently visits foreign countries. But her foreign visits have failed to attract investments. She doesn't need to go to foreign countries anymore," Mishra said.

He asked party workers to spread out and set up branches in areas which do not have traditional Left vote base.
"Even in areas where we don't have votes, you have to create organisation in order to ensure that each and every voter is able to caste his/her vote irrespective of fear and intimidation," he said.
