While inspecting the progress on the two projects, Naidu directed that the revised dates for completion of works on these projects should be met without fail.
The Rs 884 crore additional office complex is coming up opposite the Supreme Court, according to a senior Urban Development official.
Sanctioned in July, 2012 by the Ministry of Law & Justice, the complex was to be completed in three years, but only 14 per cent of the work has so far been completed.
Under the project, an underground passage to connect existing Supreme Court building and the new complex beneath Mathura Road is also to be built. The complex is to provide parking facility for around 1,850 cars.
Naidu directed CPWD to explore the possibility of undertaking works simultaneously in all the six packages. This complex is now targeted to be completed by September, 2017.
Another additional office building, to be built at a cost of Rs 84 crore, is coming up within the Supreme Court complex. This was sanctioned by the Ministry of Law & Justice in May, 2012 and was scheduled to be completed in December, 2014.
So far, 50 per cent of the work has been completed and the targeted date of completion has been revised to August, 2015.
