The meeting, held here under the chairmanship of Odisha Director General of Police R P Sharma decided that the Railway Protection Force (RPF) will register criminal cases in case of rail rokos.
The RPF will take appropriate legal actions and high level railway officials will negotiate with the agitators regarding their demands and take action in the matter, the official said after the meeting.
The meeting also emphasised on deployment of train guards in crime prone night trains and supply of CUG (closed user group) mobiles to train guard personnel.
The meeting asked the Railway authorities to install CCTV cameras and baggage scanner in important crimeprone railway stations as well as in selected trains.
Improvement of infrastructure facilities of GRP, including construction and repair of the official and residential buildings were also sought, he said.
The meeting discussed law and order situation, crime scenario, theft or sabotage, disaster management, LWE activities, safety and security of railway properties and passengers and other issues relating to security of railways, the official said.
Creation of a bomb disposal squad with the RPF was another decision, he added.
