This was revealed by Chief Secretary A P Padhi after presiding over the Unified Command meeting attended by the Odisha Police, representatives of the Central Para-Military force like CRPF and BSF.
He said the bridge over the river Gurupriya would connect about 151 villages located in the cot-off areas of Chitrakonda area of Malkangiri district.
"The construction work of the bridge is in full swing to ensure its timely completion," Padhi told reporters adding that the government will make full security arrangements to foil any threat from the Maoists to disturb construction work of the bridge.
He said some operational issues between the Central forces and the state government were also discussed.
"At the same time, steps are being taken to expedite developmental works in these districts," he said.
