Cyber cell of police to probe Nawazuddin's brother case

The cyber cell of police will inquire into a case lodged against the brother of Bollywood actor Nawazuddin for allegedly posting an objectionable picture on a social media site and hurting religious sentiments, a senior official said here today.

A case was registered against Ayazuddin on Monday in Budhan town on the complaint of a Hindu Yuva Vahini activist for allegedly posting an objectionable picture on the social media site Facebook.

"Ayazudin's case has been handed over to cyber cell," said SSP Anant Dev Singh here today.

Similarly, two cases were registered in Bhopa and Purkazi police station areas of the Muzaffarnagar district yesterday for allegedly hurting religious sentiments, Singh added.

In Purkazi area, a case was registered against a youth Ankit Gurjar for allegedly hurting the sentiments of a particular community, police said.

While in Bhopa, Harsh Kumar of Bhokaheri village has been booked for allegedly hurting religious sentiments of a minority community by posting an objectionable comment on a social media site.

Yesterday, a case was registered against a youth Choudhary Alam Gir in Kairana for allegedly posting a fake message of BJP leader Mriganka Singh against Dalits.

"Police has registerd a case and investigations are on," SP Shamli Dev Ranjan Verma said.

Meanwhile, in Shamli district today, Ankit Saini, a clerk in the collectorate here was arrested for allegedly posting an objectionable comment and hurting religious sentiments, police said.

Early this month, police in Shamli district has also ordered a probe into a complaint by newly-elected Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) MP from Kairana Tabassum Hasan regarding a fake quote of her posted on social media.
