At the head of a six-member delegation, Stasek held a 90-minute-long meeting with Mitra to discuss participation in the summit, to be held on January 7 and 8, and ways to improve trade and industry in the state, state secretariat sources said.
Earlier in mid-September, Stasek had met West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, besides Mitra, expressing interest on extending cooperation to the state as part of its bid to strengthen bilateral ties with India.
Since then, the Czech Republic took a keen interest to showcase their expertise in the summit to boost industrial development in West Bengal.
The Czech delegation is keen to cooperate or enter into joint ventures to boost power, engineering, heavy industries, mining and machinery, aviation and tourism in Bengal with their expertise of international repute.
"The state has vast resources in mining and minerals and we are ready to transfer technology for its exploration," Stasek had said earlier.
