Mahila Court Judge N Thirunavukkarasu, sentenced Vinod Kumar (37) to ten years RI for abetting her to commit suicide and also torturing her.
The prosecution case was that Vinodkumar never gave his wife Gomathy (30) any money for domestic expenses and instead wasted the money on liquor, due to which there were frequent quarrels between the two
On January 31 2011, Gomathy committed suicide in her house by hanging herself, not able to bear the torture of her husband and also could not run the family for want of money.
Police registered a case of suicide and also charged her Vinod Kumar with abetment.
Vinod Kumar was arrested a few days later.
