The 82-year-old Dalai Lama today said that he feels inspired to continue his work for 20 years.
The Tibetan spiritual leader said he wants to continue his work despite his old age.
He said this after more than 875 nuns from 40 nunneries, representative the five sects of Tibetan Buddhism and Bon tradition, from India, Nepal Bhutan organised a prayer for long life of the Dalai Lama at the main temple - Tsuglagkhang - in Dharamshala.
The temple is near the Dalai Lama's official residence.
The spiritual leader, who was present at the function, said: "I am indeed happy that this offering is being made together by nuns of all five sects of Tibetan Buddhism. It is indeed applaudable."
He said now Tibetan Buddhist nuns have also earned the Geshe degree, the highest-level of scholarship, previously reserved for monks only.
"I am very proud of your achievement and encourage all of you to pursue the highest scholarship in Buddhist study. This is the 21st century and we need to understand Buddha's teachings in the light of reason.
"After coming to India and reviving monasteries and nunneries successfully, I encouraged monks and nuns to pursue study of Buddhas teachings, root texts and the five great treatises," he said.
The function was attended by Central Tibetan Administration (CAT) president Lobsang Sangay, Chief Justice Commissioner Kargyu Dhondup and several religeous leaders of the Tibetan community and Indians.
