Dalmiya elected Regional Chairman of Export Promotion Council

Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) joint secretary Avishek Dalmiya who is also Director of ML Dalmiya & Co. Ltd, a leading construction company of India, was today elected as the Regional Chairman of the Export Promotion Council For Export Oriented Units (EOUs) and Special Economic Zones (SEZs) for the term 2016-2018.
The Primary objectives of this Export Promotion Council is to promote exports from India and thereby help in earning more foreign exchange for the country. For promotion of exports, it organizes buyer-seller meets. In addition, it participates in trade fairs, exhibitions in India and abroad.
Other functions, include facilitating interaction between exporting community and Government, both at Central and State Levels. It takes up issues affecting EOUs and SEZs with various ministries like Commerce, Finance, Central Board of Direct Taxes, Reserve Bank of India, etc.
There is no doubt that the SEZ scheme is playing a significant role in the country's economy creating infrastructure, promotion of export of goods and services and generation of employment," said a statement from Avishek.
Avishek is son of renowned Cricket Administrator Late Jagmohan Dalmiya who was a Former President of The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) as well as the International Cricket Council (ICC).
Avishek too is passionate about sports and is currently the Hony. Joint Secretary of The Cricket Association of Bengal.
