DANICS officer, family harassed by drunk youths; took to FB

A DANICS officer and his family members were allegedly abused and harassed in south Delhi by a group of four youths, who were allegedly drunk, following which he took to the social media site to narrate the ordeal.
Police said the youths also tried to make a video of the officer's wife and when protested against they flaunted their "connections" to threaten them.
The incident happened last night around 11.30 PM when the officer-- currently working with DDA on a deputation-- his wife and their daughter, were going from their home in the Asiad village to their daughter's school.
The DANICS officer told the police he was on his way to drop his 10-year-old daughter to school from where she was supposed to leave for Spain on a school trip.

On the way, their car was hit by another car coming from South Extension on August Kranti Marg near Siri Fort auditorium around, said a senior police officer.
In a Facebook post later on the officer wrote his family had a "narrow escape".

"Car badly smashed on the right...Wheel twisted and axle broke. Drunk guys driving insanely at high speed hit the car from the side at a red light(sic)..." he wrote on Facebook.
"These educated hooligans supposedly toppers...Had no sense and couldn't even stop themselves from fighting and abusing with us even after seeing I'm with a 10 yr old girl who is crying out of fear and a worried wife .!!!(sic)"

Meanwhile, a bike-patrolling party of sub-inspector Sachin and constable Chander, who were passing by, was stopped by the officer for help, police said.
They said the accused also "misbehaved" with the patrol party and repeatedly told them, "You don't know about our influence."
The four youths-- Sagar, Sagar Pawar, Mandeep, Rahul, all aged between 20-24 years-- have been arrested under section 107/51 of CrPC, police said.
"A case under sections 279, 354A (Sexual harassment), 509 (Word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman), 506 (Punishment for criminal intimidation) of IPC has been registered at the Hauz Khas police station against the youths," the police said.

The accused are residents of Shahpur Jat, they said.
