DDA working on mobile phone-based services

DDA is working on providing mobile phone-based services which will include an online public grievance cell, a senior DDA official said today.
"Apart from an interactive website, we are working on public-oriented mobile phone-based services to impart civic services to people. Among other services, it will also include a public grievance cell," Director, Systems at DDA, V S Tomar, told PTI.
Lt Governor Najeeb Jung today held a review meet in which DDA's restructuring plan and a roadmap for computerising all operations of the urban body were also discussed.
"The mobile-phone based services were also discussed in the meet. The plan is to digitise all our documents and let the services be available to people on their mobiles," Tomar said.

As part of its computerisation plan, DDA seeks to create an interactive website which will provide online services such as payment, tracking complaints, providing web-based applications, notices, e-tendering among others.
Four key locations Vikas Sadan, Vikas Minar, Dwarka and Rohini have been identified for core-service delivery.

The process of computerisation of DDA, according to the plan, shall be initiated in November and is expected to be completed by September next year.
In a first, the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) had recently also introduced online auctioning facility for its various sites, seeking greater transparency and speed in its property transactions.
The DDA, which launched its new housing scheme yesterday, received a massive online response from people leading its website to crash.

The website, which was restored today, received a whopping 18.25 lakh hits since the launch of the scheme, under which over 25,000 flats have been offered.
