A deer was found dead on the campus of the Hyderabad Central University Thursday, police said.
Security guards noticed the carcass and informed the police.
It is suspected that the deer had died while trying to escape from dogs, the police said.
On being informed, forest officials arrived at the spot, they said.
Only a postmortem can reveal the cause of the death, the police added.
