Delhi BJP today said that the CAG report, indicting power discoms in Delhi for inflating dues, was a matter of "great concern" and sought a CBI probe into the role of the private companies along with Congress and AAP governments into it.
Delhi BJP chief Satish Upadhyay said,"BJP demands that CBI inquiry should be ordered into the role of ministers, directors on the board from the side of government, DERC, power companies in which the Delhi Government and Companies have share of 49:51 per cent for the last 13 years."
"It is a matter of grave concern and after going through the report it is evident that the private power companies have been continuously looting the people of Delhi and the then Congress government and the present AAP government have been partners," Upadhyay alleged.
BJP also demanded that Delhi Government should immediately come out with a plan to recover the money from discoms.
"As per the report role of DERC is also dubious. Similarly the Government permission to the power companies to increase power tariff by six per cent in the name of fuel surcharge and after coming to power grant of 1,800 crore rupees to the discoms also puts question mark on the Kejriwal government," Upadhyay said.
However, Upadhyay said that this report has neither been issued formally by the CAG nor by the Delhi Government and requested related office to authenticate this report and table before Legislative Assembly.
